Envision Academy uses a holistic grading rubric when determining student grades. When assessing assignments, teachers will grade based on the following 5 criteria:
| Categories | Evidence |
| Mastery of Knowledge (Know the facts) |
Final projects, project write-ups, presentations, tests |
| Application of Knowledge (Demonstrate Understanding) |
Group work, class participation, presentations |
| Metacognition (Evidence of Thought) |
Reflections, revisions, journals, logs |
| Leadership Skills (Envision's 6 Leadership Skills) |
Presentations, project benchmarks, critique participation, problem solving |
| College Work Habits (Engagement, Participation, and Responsibility) |
homework, classwork, notebook, preparedness, self advocacy |
By grading in this way, as opposed to just an overall letter grade or percentage, teachers are able to pinpoint areas of improvement for their students and can more easily help them reach the next level of academic success.
