Step 1: Logging In

What is the Portfolio?

The portfolio is an online system that holds and displays your best work from EA. It is used as the centerpiece for explaining why you should be allowed to progress to upper division (for the benchmark portfolio) and to be allowed to graduate from EA (for the graduation portfolio). Basically, it's really important.

How do I get to the portfolio website?

First and foremost, know that the portfolio system seems to work best in Safari (rather than Firefox), so if you are on a Mac, I would use Safari. If using Safari is not an option, everything will still probably work fine, but if you have the option, I would use Safari.

You can get to the portfolio website if you click this big obvious really long link here.

Also, if you are on one of the schools Mac's you can move your mouse on down to the dock (at the bottom of the screen) and click on the icon that looks like this:

Clicking this icon should automatically open Safari (which is preferred) to the portfolio website page.

Logging in

Once you are on the portfolio website, you need to log in, obviously. It should look like this:

User ID
For User ID, you want to put yourfirstname_yourlastname. That means that if your name is Joe Shmo, your user ID would be joe_shmo. If your name is lil wayne, your user ID would be lil_wayne. Now, here comes the tricky part: What's that weird dash looking thing between the first and last name? Thats called an "underscore". You can make the underscore symbol by holding down the shift key and pressing the minus (-) button on your computer. Got it... good.

One last thing about user ID's. If you have a hyphenated last name (meaning more than one), your user ID will be firstname_lastname-lastname. So, if your name was John Smith-Jones, your user ID would be john_smith-jones.

Password
If this is your first time ever logging into the portfolio system, your password is 123. If you have logged in to the portfolio system before, and have already changed your password, your password is whatever you changed it to. If you forget your password, SHAME ON YOU. Seriously though, if you forget your password, you need to tell your tech guy and see if he can reset it for you.
User level
Make sure this says student
When you have your user ID and password entered, and your user level is set to student, press the button that says "Click here to launch application". That's just nerd speak for "log in"

You should now be at the Main Menu screen that looks like this:

End of this section

Congratulations! You have successfully logged in! Now lets go on to step 2, the administrative tools. Go to next step
