Step 7: Submitting Artifacts

Contents

Why do I have to submit artifacts?

Once you have edited your artifact, added your attachments, and added your reflections, you need to submit you artifact to have it be in the final stage of your portfolio. Think of it like turning in a paper. Everything you have done up to this point has been like writing different drafts. Now your final draft is done, and you need to actually turn in the paper. That's what submitting your artifact is like. Please check with your teacher to make sure you are ready do submit your artifact before actually doing it.

Submitting artifacts

Remember the "Create / Manage Artifacts" main page from a few steps ago? It looks like this:

Notice how there are two artifacts in the "In Progress" section, and none in the "Submitted Artifacts" section

To submit one of your artifacts, click on the "submit artifact" link on the left side of the screen. You should get a screen that looks like this:

Notice how now there is one artifact in the "Submitted artifact" section.

Use for defense
Leave blank for now
Use in my portfolio
Select "Yes" if you want this artifact to show up in your portfolio, otherwise, select "No". Your going to want "Yes" 99% of the time.
Status
A mark of "C" means the artifact is complete and will remain in the "Submitted artifacts" section. A mark of "IP" means the artifact is in progress. Changing this to "IP" and then pressing the "Update" button on the left will put this artifact back in the "In Progress Artifacts Summary". This is handy if you accidentally submitted your artifact and need it back in the "In Progress" section.

End of this section

Congratulations! You have successfully submitted an artifact! Now repeat steps 4-7 until your portfolio is complete. Go to step 4
