Earlier this month, Envision Academy hosted their 8th annual career day which featured a panel, followed by a career fair in the auditorium. Members of the community from different career backgrounds made their way to the campus to spend the day with students.
The goal: To give students a first hand look at career options and to expand their thinking on what jobs they could have access to.
EA College Advisor Karla Rodriguez says her favorite part of career day is the role that representation plays in motivating the students: “By having professionals who look like our kids in the building, speaking about their careers and stories, I hope that they can see themselves in their shoes. I hope it motivates them to reach their full potential and goals.”
Senior Veronica Cañas loved the day, saying it was the best one of her four years at EA. “The panels were all really interesting, and I liked that creative jobs — like freelance writer and podcaster — were included. It was great.”
Props to EA and another successful career day and for showing an amazing array of options to our students!
