N’dea Nassor, Envision Academy
College: 

N’Dea is Envision Academy’s 2019 winner of the Bob Lenz “PDO” Scholarship.

“Persistence and determination alone are omnipotent.”  Several Panthers come to mind when I think of these words, but one, in particular, exemplifies this idea every day: N’Dea Nassor. She wears her struggles and barriers as a badge of honor and says “Yes, this is what I’m up against. Now watch me win.” Over the course of this year, N’Dea has been faced with even more setbacks both in and out of the classroom. Lesser people would let these setbacks keep them down…but that’s not what Panthers do. She got back up and worked even harder than before. She is the type of student who inspires everyone, both adults and teenagers, to achieve to the best of their ability. It has only been a short time since she’s been a part of our community, but she’s a Panther through and through.  We are so proud of her and look forward to hearing about her next adventure!

ABOUT THE BOB LENZ “PDO” SCHOLARSHIP
The Bob Lenz PDO Scholarship award of $1000 is given each year to one graduating senior from each school site who exemplifies the Calvin Coolidge phrase: “Persistence and Determination alone are Omnipotent.” (PDO)  Erin Brockovich made these words her motto in her successful campaign to expose toxic water tables in the Central Valley.  Bob and his Envision co-founders adopted the motto as well, applying it to Envision’s tireless work to help students develop the persistence and determination to succeed in college. Each of our award-winning students:

 

  • Has gone through significant hardship and persisted through adversity;
  • Has been accepted to and plans to attend a 4-year university or college.
